Abstract

The integration of social sciences in the development of Qur'anic scholarship and exegesis is increasingly becoming a crucial need for understanding the socio-cultural context in the interpretation of sacred verses. This approach presents an interdisciplinary perspective by combining classical exegesis with contemporary social sciences such as sociology and anthropology. Thus, Qur'anic interpretation can be conducted thematically and scientifically, considering not only linguistic and theological aspects but also the social relevance of contemporary society. This approach can uncover the meaning of verses related to social norms, traditions, and the dynamics of social change, making interpretation more adaptive and applicable in responding to the challenges of modern life. This article discusses the role and methods of integrating social sciences in Qur'anic exegesis, while highlighting the opportunities and challenges in its application. This integration encourages holistic and contextual interpretation, thus making a significant contribution to the development of Islamic sciences that are more responsive to the needs of today's society.
